Privacy policy for Foldami

Step-by-step origami on iPhone and iPad. On iPhone Duo you fold by closing the phone, elsewhere with a finger. No account, no network.

This is a translation of the informativa privacy in Italian; if the two differ, the Italian version prevails.

No data collected

Foldami does not collect any personal data: it does not record, store with me or transmit anything you do in the app. There are no accounts and no sign-up: you use the app without giving your name, email or anything else.

No network connection

There is no code in the app that connects to the internet: it does not contact any server, mine or anyone else's. Models, diagrams and instructions are already inside the app.

No analytics, tracking or ads

Foldami contains no analytics or tracking tools, shows no ads and includes no third-party SDKs.

No permissions

The app does not ask for access to the camera, photos, location, contacts, microphone or anything else: iOS will never show you a permission request for it.

The iPhone Duo hinge

On iPhone Duo the app reads the hinge angle, that is how far the phone is closed, so the paper on screen follows the movement of the fold. The angle is used only in the moment, on the device: it is neither saved nor sent anywhere.

What stays on your device

Your work, meaning the folded sheets and their steps, is saved only on your device, in the app's data folder. Your preferences (the table and paper chosen in Appearance, the models you completed) are kept in the app's settings. The app does not sync them with iCloud; like other app data, they may be included in your device backup, if you have turned it on.

You delete a piece of work in My work by swiping its row to the left. Everything is erased when you uninstall the app.

What it declares to Apple

In its privacy manifest, the file where an app tells Apple what it uses, Foldami lists only two system features: the app's settings (UserDefaults), which only the app reads and writes, and the time since the device was turned on, used to measure the interval between two movements of the hinge. Neither leaves the device.

App Store and Apple

Downloads and updates go through the App Store, run by Apple under its own privacy policy. The device analytics that iOS may send to Apple depend on your settings (Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements), not on the app.

Data controller and contact

The data controller is Angelo Sasso (Simplebuild.it), who develops the app. For any question about this policy, write to support@simplebuild.it.

You can also call +39 389 314 8174.

You keep the rights granted by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), including the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).

This policy covers only the app. For the angelosasso.it website, the website privacy policy applies.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with the updated date. For help with the app, see the support page.
