Scripts for Mac
Image converter for Mac
Converts iPhone HEIC photos (and almost any other format) to JPEG, PNG, PDF and more, many at once, and shrinks them if you want. With a double-click, nothing to install.
What it does
- Reads HEIC, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, BMP, WebP, camera RAW (DNG, CR2, NEF, ARW), PSD and more.
- Saves as PNG, JPEG, HEIC, TIFF, GIF, BMP, JPEG 2000, PDF, PSD or TGA.
- Adjustable quality for JPEG and HEIC, and a maximum side in pixels for shrinking.
- Never touches the originals and never overwrites anything: if a name already exists, it adds "(1)".
- Uses only the Mac's built-in commands (sips and osascript): no extra programs, no data sent online.
How to use it
- Download the zip and double-click it: a folder called "Convertitore immagini" appears.
- Double-click "Convertitore immagini.command".
- The first time, your Mac blocks it because it comes from the internet: open System Settings > Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway, then confirm.
- Choose the photos, the format, the quality and (if you want) the maximum side: a summary appears at the end.
The warning on first launch is the Mac security check for files downloaded from the internet: Apple explains what to do in Safely open apps on your Mac.
Requirements
macOS. No other programs. The program's windows are in Italian.
